There’s something very disconcerting about coming home and watching your 6 1/2 month old lab puppy jump straight up in the air in excitement and then you realize … his front paws are about 6 inches above the fence.
If he ever figures out that forward vector, I am going to be so screwed.
I suppose I shouldn’t be too surprised by this — I was watching him jump up and snatch moths from around the back porch light last weekend. I just didn’t translate, “wow he can jump really high” into “wow, he’s going to be able to jump OVER the fence.” Especially when he’s probably going to keep growing for another year …
I think a lovely “I belong to Sharah. Please return me.” tag might be in order for Mr. Gozer’s collar in the next few days.
My older lab can climb my 5 foot wood fence. He’s gone over twice already…My younger lab is bigger than him, if he figures it out…I’m screwed as well!
The lab we had when I was a kid used to regularly jump over the fence.
Yeah, maybe a little wooden lace on the top of the fence would help. He will figure out how to climb it. Either that, or he stays inside.
