Last night, I got the pleasure of meeting three fabulous women: Becky, Jessica, and Kellie at the inaugural meeting of the North Alabama Infertility Support Group, W.A.I.T.T.!  WAITT stands for “We’re All In This Together” and is the brainchild of Kellie and Becky.  Supposedly we were going to talk about how to publicize and set up the group, but eh, who wants to talk about that when there’s so much other fun stuff to kvetch over.  Actually, I think we did discuss getting flyers printed and taken to the RE’s offices right before we left, so we did do a little official stuff.

This was the first time that I had ever met another blogger(s), but surprisingly I wasn’t nervous.  Normally I’m a little freaked out meeting new people, but after reading all their blogs for a while, I felt like I already knew everybody.  I was a little embarrassed at first though, because I got there last and didn’t see them at the table, so I hung around the entrance for 5 minutes.  At that point I decided to look through the restaurant again, and I noticed three women looking at me.  So I figured I’d give it a try, and it turned out to be them, yay!

We ended up having dinner and talking about our lives outside of the blogworld and comparing RE’s and diagnoses — I wonder what the people at the next table over thought, listening us comparing drugs and uteruses (uterii?).  Kellie is such a sweetheart and actually brought us all little willow tree figurines — a little boy holding a balloon that says “hope”.    Before I knew it, it was 8:00 and time to head home.  So much fun, ladies, and I’m already looking forward to next time — mwah!

  1. I paced the lobby too. You weren’t the only one! We were more concerned for you, and were hoping that nothing had happened to you on your way over. I debated going out to check for you a couple of times, bu the last time there you were! We all figured if we stare enough maybe we’d look obvious. I think it worked!

Feel free to call anytime. I’m always available to you and the other ladies. So, if you ever need to bum out over anything or hopefully celebarate, don’t hesitate to call or write!
